From 106f700be4a9a924a60e29783520cd43a7811239 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Lukas <103962359+L4XB@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Fri, 23 Oct 2026 10:58:52 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] fix(linux): read Debian's GDM config when checking for a Wayland login screen (#16674) is_login_wayland() looks for WaylandEnable in /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and /etc/gdm/custom.conf. Debian's gdm3 package ships /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf instead (bookworm and trixie), whose default has '#WaylandEnable=false', so on Debian the function always returned false and the 'Login screen using Wayland is not supported' card never appeared. Read daemon.conf after the two custom.conf paths. --- src/platform/linux.rs | 7 ++++++- 1 file changed, 6 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/src/platform/linux.rs b/src/platform/linux.rs index a8b716828..f6b17c1b4 100644 --- a/src/platform/linux.rs +++ b/src/platform/linux.rs @@ -1322,7 +1322,12 @@ fn get_cm() -> bool { } pub fn is_login_wayland() -> bool { - let files = ["/etc/gdm3/custom.conf", "/etc/gdm/custom.conf"]; + // Debian's gdm3 reads /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf instead of custom.conf. + let files = [ + "/etc/gdm3/custom.conf", + "/etc/gdm/custom.conf", + "/etc/gdm3/daemon.conf", + ]; match ( Regex::new(r"# *WaylandEnable *= *false"), Regex::new(r"WaylandEnable *= *true"),
